Raccoons are omnivorous, but sweet food tends to attract them. Fried bread, snacks, fruits, etc. are used as lure.

Meat and fish are also effective lure baits, but cats and other animals may be accidentally captured. Also, avoid crops grown in the surrounding area to prevent further damage.

Place the bait around the box trap or deep inside the box trap to capture it. Be careful not to be bitten or scratched by a captured beast as it can be infectious.
